One of the most amazing things about working with bodies all day long is noticing body language and its effect on overall health and a person’s emotional state. We work on this stuff all the time in my workout class, Core Transformation. Our workout time is designed so that we open up the body into, as Amy Cuddy calls them, power poses. These power poses work to improve your emotional and mental state.
I am continually referring people to Amy Cuddy’s work, so here is one of her first Ted Talks- it’s fascinating. Enjoy the research and her really fun presentation. Once you’ve watched this one, there are plenty more on Youtube if you would like to dive deeper into her work.
