What is Core Alignment Therapy?

Lives Changed.
Pain Released.
Powerful Healing Connection.
A Dance…

If you’ve spent any time checking out client’s testimonials here on this site or our Facebook page, you already know that this is a simple yet nuanced and thorough technique that will give you a powerful toolbox to unwind pain out of your client’s bodies.  It is a layering of powerful protocols from simple osteopathic manual assessment and alignment methods, to acupressure, Russian physiotherapy, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation and so much more to create a concise focused session that flexes and changes based on the needs of the client.
Here is what a former Basic CAT student shared after working with the method for a few weeks:
“My most profound takeaway was probably in my thinking afterward as I tried to formulate an explanation as to how and why the simple movements in CAT were able to facilitate such amazing change in the body.  I now see it as physical homeopathy. My theory is that by holding a finger on the spot and moving the bone first further in the ‘wrong’ direction the body is alerted that it needs correction, and then the spiraling range of motion movement allows it space to move whichever way it needs to go to find its way back to its correct position.”

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have prior bodywork training or experience to learn CAT?

No, even high schoolers who are motivated and persistent can learn this work.  This is a hands-on workshop and the work is practiced until all students have the tools they need to continue to practice and hone their skills on their own and by attending the advanced level trainings.

Do I have to be a licensed massage therapist in order to include Core Alignment Therapy in my wellness practice?

No, however if you are looking for credibility in your practice as a Core Alignment Therapy practitioner, it would serve you well to complete the trainings and then move into the certification. More information is provided on this question of preparing for professionalism in the training.

What should I expect to receive in the Basic Core Alignment Therapy workshop?

This comprehensive workshop will guide you through the basic skills needed to access the CAT work.  For those who are wanting to just use this for their families, they will walk away with a wealth of knowledge and techniques for connection, getting rid of headaches and performing the Basic Core Alignment Therapy session.

What will the Advanced I & II workshops bring to my practice?

The Advanced workshops distinguish themselves by presenting more of the principles behind the work and offering hands-on therapeutic skills that allow you to work on a broader variety of common issues such as: Sciatica, Fibromyalgia, Brachial Plexus Nerve Impingement, Carpal Tunnel, Pregnancy-Related Issues and more.

What should I bring to the training?

Bring yourself, well-rested, hydrated and in a clear state of mind.  Wear clothes that will allow for free and easy movement as we will not only be performing bodywork but will be doing some restorative movement exercises throughout the course. Bring snacks, water and healthy hydrating drinks.  Many students bring lunch and choose to relax on site and take walks rather than try to find restaurants or amenities nearby.  Several hour-long breaks are given throughout the course, so students can make plans to leave if needed.

Will I need a massage table and stool?

Depending on the venue, half the students will need to bring massage tables.  Once you have registered, you will be contacted with specific information about the venue and whether or not you will be requested to bring a table and stool.

Everyone will need to bring their own stool. Look for a nice step stool that is between 10″-12″ in height.  A sturdy milk crate will do if you are unable to find just the right stool before the training.  We will be experimenting to find the right table height and stool height for your ease of movement and quality body mechanics as you perform the work.

Why do we take a break in the middle of the training?

Each week, I regularly take a Sabbath rest on Saturdays.  Not only do I seek to honor a time of spiritual, emotional and physical rest, connection with family and friends and celebration, but I am convinced that because we pack so much into the training that it helps the brain and body to be ready to receive another intensive day of learning after a day of other activities.  Many CE courses can reach a point of burnout where students are unable to take in any more learning. We strive to give students the chance to assimilate their learning fully before moving on with more course content.

Why Study Core Alignment Therapy?

Play Video

My husband just went for the first time last week. When he came home, I could visibly see the relief in his face. Chronic pain is no laughing matter and ever since Liz worked on him Sunday he has slept better, not complained at all, and he is laughing again! Thank you Liz! You have miracle hands!

Adrin

I'm giving testimony here, Liz is amazing at this. I've had hip issues from years of running and it's payback time. Liz helped the pain completely go away for 4 days so I'm going back for a little tune up. Not expecting an overnight miracle but I do believe over time this will be so beneficial in getting that 'kink out'.

Anonymous

I have been going to Liz for quite awhile. Core Alignment has helped me immensely. I have bulging discs that create havoc for me. After a session with Liz I feel like a new person, She not only does Core Alignment, but she is very well versed in eating habits, exercise and how to continue to feel good. Can't wait for the massage next week!!!!

Tricia

I have only gone one time for core alignment with Liz. I have arthritis in my hip and plantar fasciitis. After the Core Alignment Therapy session, I opted for the massage as well. I can't believe how I felt afterwards! I have no more hip pain and the plantar fasciitis was 100% better! I need to schedule another appointment because that was over 6 months ago and I'm in need of a tune-up. Amazing for anyone but especially someone experiencing any sort of pain!
